(PR NewsChannel) / November 30, 2012 / TAMPA, Fla.?

Tampa dermatologist Forman dermatology and skin cancer instituteOne Tampa dermatologist is offering a new treatment for the most common form of skin cancer, basal cell carcinoma, which can affect the patient?s cosmetic appearance. Until now, most treatment options for those with basal cell carcinoma have been invasive procedures that can leave them with visible scars.

Dr. Seth Forman is using a new technology, the SRT-100, to treat basal cell carcinoma. Through nonsurgical radiotherapy, the procedure virtually eliminates any scarring and consequently, the need for skin reconstruction. According to Forman, most skin cancers that the SRT-100 treats appear on commonly exposed areas that patients do not want scarred, like the face, hands and neck.

?With this nonsurgical radiotherapy treatment, I am able to effectively treat a patient?s skin cancer, and their skin is left smooth and free of surgical scars,? says the Tampa dermatologist.

The Tampa dermatologist and his successful use of the SRT-100 technology have appeared on local Tampa news broadcasts as well as the CBS hit TV show, ?The Doctors.? Renowned surgeon and the show?s co-host, Dr. Drew Ordon, referred to the SRT-100 technology as ?a real game changer.?

Forman is currently one of the only board-certified dermatologists in the United States to use the SRT-100 technology to treat skin cancer. First sold in July of 2011 to a hospital in Hong Kong, the noninvasive skin cancer treatment just recently made it way overseas.
